The way a work of art is created gives it a living aura. The brush strokes show force or precision, movement and stillness, the emotion of the artist. A drawing tells of the passage of a pencil on paper, the movement of a hand. Prints are made by pressing a drawn, scratched, or etched image onto paper. The final product carries the technique of creation within its lines and shapes. The inks on metal or stone or wood transferred to paper, pressed into paper, can give the final image a striking, timeless, iconic feeling. If the print maker is good. And Robert Creighton is very good at this ageless craft.
